Testing compliance check completed

The Government today completed a joint enforcement operation on a compulsory testing notice for CentrePoint in Sheung Wan.   The enforcement action was conducted from around 7am to 10.30am by the Central & Western District Office together with Police, the Department of Health and the Auxiliary Medical Service.   About 90 people’s test records were checked during the operation. Among them, 20 people were found to have violated the compulsory testing notice.   Noting that the enforcement process may cause inconvenience to residents, the Government appealed for their understanding as the operation was conducted to stop the spread of COVID-19. http://dlvr.it/S4kC72

1 COVID-19 death recorded

The Hospital Authority today said a COVID-19 patient has passed away, taking the number of COVID-19 patients who died in public hospitals to 193.   A 73-year-old man who tested preliminary positive for COVID-19 was admitted to Tseung Kwan O Hospital on November 23 last year.   He was transferred to the Adult Intensive Care Unit (AICU) of Queen Mary Hospital for isolation treatment on December 9.   His antibody test result for COVID-19 was positive after treatment and was released from isolation order by the Department of Health on January 28.    Due to respiratory failure, he continued to stay in the AICU and a general ward consecutively. His condition worsened and he succumbed last night.
