Hands-on approach to mental illness

With the aim of combatting the fear and misconceptions surrounding mental illness, Castle Peak Hospital’s Mind Space museum enables visitors to experience hallucinations, similar to the sensory experiences mentally ill patients encounter, by way of rooms that utilise virtual reality (VR) technology.   A group of secondary students recently embarked on a journey through Mind Space after registering and receiving patient wristbands. This unique mental health experience museum provided them with a comprehensive understanding of the development of psychiatric services in Hong Kong.   Displays in the museum showcase intriguing relics, including the evolution of restraints and handwritten patient records. LCSD reports COVID-19 case

The Leisure & Cultural Services Department today said a worker who provides plant maintenance services in Sham Shui Po has tested positive for COVID-19.   The worker had been identified as a close contact of a confirmed case and was notified yesterday that she had tested positive for the virus.   She has no recent travel history and last worked on February 10. She wore surgical masks when performing her duties and her body temperature was normal when undergoing temperature screening at work.   Thorough cleaning and sterilisation at the work areas concerned and all related public facilities have been arranged.
