With only 11 days left before the District Council (DC) election, Chief Secretary Chan Kwok-ki and Secretary for the Civil Service Ingrid Yeung today visited the Queensway Government Offices to promote the election to colleagues and urge them to vote with family and friends on December 10.   Also joining the visit were representatives from the four civil service central consultative councils and the four major service-wide staff unions.   Mr Chan said civil servants are determined to organise a decent DC election and have encouraged colleagues to vote together with friends and relatives, so as to discharge their civic responsibility as well as support and accomodate the Government's governance.   “I have visited and talked to colleagues from various government departments in the hope of continuing to widely disseminate the important message of supporting the DC election and voting together among civil servants,” he added.   The DC geographical constituencies, inform

Railway project final report submitted

The Expert Adviser Team on the Shatin to Central Link (SCL) Project has submitted the final report to the Transport & Housing Bureau.   The report was uploaded to the bureau’s website today.   In the final report, the team put forward 42 recommendations for the continuous improvement of railway project management.   The Government said it agreed to the recommendations and is progressively implementing those related to the SCL Project.   For recommendations related to the Mass Transit Railway Corporation's project management system, the Government's monitoring measures and future railway projects, the Government will follow up with the MTR Corporation for implementation in future railway projects.   The bureau will continue to monitor the implementation of the expert adviser team's recommendations and review their effectiveness.   Secretary for Transport & Housing Frank Chan expressed gratitude to members of the expert adviser team for their sterling work and valuable advice on the SCL Project in the past two years, as well as their contribution in compiling the final report.   The expert adviser team was established in August 2018 to provide expert advice on the construction of the SCL Project, conduct an overall review of the corporation's project management system, and recommend additional management and monitoring measures to be undertaken by the corporation and government departments in taking forward the SCL Project.
