CS promotes support for DC election

With only 11 days left before the District Council (DC) election, Chief Secretary Chan Kwok-ki and Secretary for the Civil Service Ingrid Yeung today visited the Queensway Government Offices to promote the election to colleagues and urge them to vote with family and friends on December 10.   Also joining the visit were representatives from the four civil service central consultative councils and the four major service-wide staff unions.   Mr Chan said civil servants are determined to organise a decent DC election and have encouraged colleagues to vote together with friends and relatives, so as to discharge their civic responsibility as well as support and accomodate the Government's governance.   “I have visited and talked to colleagues from various government departments in the hope of continuing to widely disseminate the important message of supporting the DC election and voting together among civil servants,” he added.   The DC geographical constituencies, inform

Private doctors order 170k jabs

As of today, more than 1,200 doctors joining the COVID-19 Vaccination Programme have approached the Department of Health to place orders for more than 170,000 doses of vaccine.   The department said the programme has been running smoothly since its launch. It started distributing the Sinovac vaccine to private doctors and clinics participating in the programme under the Vaccination Subsidy Scheme on March 1.   Around 160,000 doses of vaccine have been delivered to doctors' clinics and about 53,000 citizens have received their first dose of the Sinovac vaccine from private doctors and clinics participating in the programme.   The department has completed over 1,500 doctors’ enrolment applications, involving more than 2,100 clinics.   The list of participating private doctors and clinics that have made vaccine orders has been uploaded here.   People can choose and make an appointment for vaccination directly with a private doctor or clinic under the programme without going through the Government online booking system.    The public can also learn more about the Sinovac vaccine by reading this fact sheet and visiting the designated webpage.
