CS promotes support for DC election

With only 11 days left before the District Council (DC) election, Chief Secretary Chan Kwok-ki and Secretary for the Civil Service Ingrid Yeung today visited the Queensway Government Offices to promote the election to colleagues and urge them to vote with family and friends on December 10.   Also joining the visit were representatives from the four civil service central consultative councils and the four major service-wide staff unions.   Mr Chan said civil servants are determined to organise a decent DC election and have encouraged colleagues to vote together with friends and relatives, so as to discharge their civic responsibility as well as support and accomodate the Government's governance.   “I have visited and talked to colleagues from various government departments in the hope of continuing to widely disseminate the important message of supporting the DC election and voting together among civil servants,” he added.   The DC geographical constituencies, inform

615k vaccine doses administered

About 615,500 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered to the public, with about 502,500 people receiving their first dose and about 113,000 people getting their second dose.   Among those receiving the first dose of vaccines, about 333,100 people have received the Sinovac jab and about 169,400 people have received the BioNTech one.   For the second dose, about 89,300 people have received the Sinovac vaccine while about 23,700 people have been administered the BioNTech jab.   About 2,700 people received their first dose of the Sinovac vaccine under the COVID-19 Vaccination Programme today.   Among them, about 2,300 people received the jab at eight community vaccination centres (CVCs), while about 400 were inoculated at private doctors and clinics participating in the programme.   Around 6,200 people received their second dose of the Sinovac vaccine today, including about 4,900 people vaccinated at CVCs and about 1,300 people through private doctors and clinics.   For the BioNTech vaccine, about 12,800 people received their first dose at 21 CVCs and about 16,500 received their second dose.   The overall percentage of people who received the Sinovac vaccine at CVCs and that of the BioNTech vaccine are both about 96%.   As of 8pm, about 2,500 people had reserved their first and second doses of the Sinovac vaccine online, while about 11,600 had reserved their first and second doses of the BioNTech vaccine.   As of midnight, five people were sent to hospital.
