Hands-on approach to mental illness

With the aim of combatting the fear and misconceptions surrounding mental illness, Castle Peak Hospital’s Mind Space museum enables visitors to experience hallucinations, similar to the sensory experiences mentally ill patients encounter, by way of rooms that utilise virtual reality (VR) technology.   A group of secondary students recently embarked on a journey through Mind Space after registering and receiving patient wristbands. This unique mental health experience museum provided them with a comprehensive understanding of the development of psychiatric services in Hong Kong.   Displays in the museum showcase intriguing relics, including the evolution of restraints and handwritten patient records. 2.05m vaccine jabs administered

About 2,050,300 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered to the public, with about 1,213,100 people receiving their first dose and about 837,100 getting their second dose.   Among those given the first dose of vaccines, about 521,900 people have received the Sinovac jab and about 691,200 people have received the BioNTech one.   For the second dose, about 383,600 people have received the Sinovac vaccine, while about 453,600 people have been administered the BioNTech jab.   About 4,000 people received their first dose of the Sinovac vaccine and around 4,700 people received their second dose under the COVID-19 Vaccination Programme today.    For the BioNTech vaccine, about 6,600 people received their first dose at community vaccination centres (CVCs) and about 8,200 people received their second dose.   The overall percentage of people who received the Sinovac vaccine at CVCs is about 96%, while for the BioNTech one it is about 97%.   As of 8pm, about 4,400 people booked their first and second doses of the Sinovac vaccine online, while about 8,500 reserved their first and second doses of the BioNTech jab.   As of midnight, seven people were sent to hospitals.
