Hands-on approach to mental illness

With the aim of combatting the fear and misconceptions surrounding mental illness, Castle Peak Hospital’s Mind Space museum enables visitors to experience hallucinations, similar to the sensory experiences mentally ill patients encounter, by way of rooms that utilise virtual reality (VR) technology.   A group of secondary students recently embarked on a journey through Mind Space after registering and receiving patient wristbands. This unique mental health experience museum provided them with a comprehensive understanding of the development of psychiatric services in Hong Kong.   Displays in the museum showcase intriguing relics, including the evolution of restraints and handwritten patient records. 8 District Council seats vacant

The Government gazetted today that eight elected seats in the Central & Western, Eastern, Sai Kung and Sha Tin district councils are vacant.   The Central & Western District Council Chung Wan Constituency elected member Hui Chi-fung had been consecutively absent from all the council meetings since January 28 without getting the council's consent before the end of the disqualifying period.   In accordance with the District Councils Ordinance, Mr Hui was disqualified from holding office on May 29, and since then his office has became vacant.   Another seven constituency seats have also became vacant following the resignation of relevant elected members.
