Chan Kwok-ki, Algernon Yau in quarantine

​Director of Chief Executive’s Office Chan Kwok-ki and Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development (designate) Algernon Yau are undergoing quarantine in accordance with the Centre for Health Protection’s guidelines, the Government said today.   They were identified as close contacts after an assessment by the centre, as Mr Chan’s wife and a friend of Mr Yau had tested preliminary positive for COVID-19.    Both men have regularly conducted COVID-19 rapid antigen tests and the results have been negative. 5.71m vaccine doses administered

About 5,719,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered to the public, with about 3,256,100 people receiving their first dose and around 2,462,900 getting their second dose.   Among those given the first dose of vaccines, about 1,275,900 people have received the Sinovac jab and about 1,980,100 people have received the BioNTech one.   For the second dose, about 990,700 people have received the Sinovac vaccine, while about 1,472,300 people have been administered the BioNTech jab.   About 55,800 people received jabs under the COVID-19 Vaccination Programme today.   About 6,200 people received their first dose of the Sinovac vaccine and around 7,300 people received their second dose.   For the BioNTech vaccine, about 22,400 people received their first dose and around 19,700 people got their second dose.   The overall percentage of people who received the Sinovac vaccine at community vaccination centres is about 96%, while it is about 98% for the BioNTech one.   As of 8pm, about 4,200 people booked their first and second doses of the Sinovac vaccine online, while about 23,100 reserved their first and second doses of the BioNTech jab.   As of midnight, nine people were sent to hospitals.
