Hands-on approach to mental illness

With the aim of combatting the fear and misconceptions surrounding mental illness, Castle Peak Hospital’s Mind Space museum enables visitors to experience hallucinations, similar to the sensory experiences mentally ill patients encounter, by way of rooms that utilise virtual reality (VR) technology.   A group of secondary students recently embarked on a journey through Mind Space after registering and receiving patient wristbands. This unique mental health experience museum provided them with a comprehensive understanding of the development of psychiatric services in Hong Kong.   Displays in the museum showcase intriguing relics, including the evolution of restraints and handwritten patient records. 6 virus cases in restricted areas

The Government today announced that six COVID-19 cases were found in the compulsory testing exercises for the restricted areas in Sha Tin and Tuen Mun.   It made restriction-testing declarations yesterday to cover Cypress House of Kwong Yuen Estate in Sha Tin and Block 13, Yuet Wu Villa in Tuen Mun.   Two positive and five indeterminate cases were found in Cypress House where around 1,220 people were tested. One sample needs to be re-tested.   At Block 13 of Yuet Wu Villa, 579 people underwent testing. Four of them tested positive for the virus and five indeterminate cases were found.   The Centre for Health Protection will follow up on the cases.
