4 arrested for disorderly conduct

Police arrested four people after noticing that some individuals were displaying protest items that contained seditious wordings, chanting and committing unlawful acts in the vicinity of Causeway Bay since the afternoon of June 3.   Police announced the arrests in a statement and explained that upon investigation, they arrested the four individuals on suspicion of disorder in public places and doing an act or acts with seditious intention.   Additionally, four other people suspected of breaching public peace were brought to the police station for further investigation.   The force stressed that they are highly concerned about people attempting to incite and provoke others to commit illegal acts that endanger national security, public order and public safety.   Apart from stepping up patrols and enhancing intelligence-gathering, Police added that they will closely monitor the situation of various districts and strive to prevent and combat crimes. http://dlvr.it/Sq8xNR

Scheme to help graduates set

The Labour Department today said it is going to launch the special Career Let’s Go programme to help secondary school graduates enter the job market.   Through an array of diversified pre-employment training and employment services, the programme aims to help school leavers obtain the latest employment information, plan for their careers and enhance employability.   Running from June to August, the programme is expected to draw about 6,000 participants.   Secondary school leavers can browse the dedicated webpage for job vacancies identified as suitable for them and make applications according to their personal aspirations.   The webpage also provides details on job fairs organised by the department, including those under the Youth Employment & Training Programme.   Furthermore, two youth employment resource centres, Youth Employment Start in Mong Kok and Kwai Fong, will offer practical training courses through the Happy@Work programme. School leavers can get career assessment and career consultation there.   Meanwhile, the department, in collaboration with RTHK Radio 2, will hold the Award Ceremony of YETP Most Improved Trainees 2022 & Concert in August to showcase trainees’ improvements.   The department encourages secondary school leavers opting to enter the employment market to join the youth programme, which provides one-stop comprehensive pre-employment and on-the-job training for free, with an allowance for the trainees and no pre-set quota.   Call 2717 1771 for enquiries.
