SB holds youth leadership forum

The annual review of the Security Bureau Youth Uniformed Group Leaders Forum was held today, with Acting Chief Executive Chan Kwok-ki giving a speech.   Mr Chan reported that the forum had organised nearly 20 activities over the past year, including courses and training camps run by the bureau’s disciplined services and auxiliary services, and seminars on the country’s Constitution, the Basic Law and the Hong Kong National Security Law. Viola recital to be held in July

The Leisure & Cultural Services Department has invited violist Sun Yu to stage a recital under the City Hall Virtuosi Series on July 31.   Sun Yu is currently the Principal Viola at Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich, and was the Principal Viola of Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, Sinfonieorchester Basel and the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra.   The recital will include a selection of compositions of different musical periods to comprehensively present the viola's characteristics and its vital role in the history of Western music.   The selection includes Johann Sebastian Bach's Sonata for Viola da Gamba & Clavier, BWV 1028, Schumann's M√§rchenbilder, Op. 113 and Paganini's Sonata per la Grand Viola, MS 70.   In the second half of the recital, Sun Yu will present contemporary composer and violist Hindemith's Sonata for Viola, Op. 31, No. 4 and Sonata for Viola & Piano, Op. 11, No. 4.   The recital will be held at 8pm on July 31 at Hong Kong City Hall.
