CS promotes support for DC election

With only 11 days left before the District Council (DC) election, Chief Secretary Chan Kwok-ki and Secretary for the Civil Service Ingrid Yeung today visited the Queensway Government Offices to promote the election to colleagues and urge them to vote with family and friends on December 10.   Also joining the visit were representatives from the four civil service central consultative councils and the four major service-wide staff unions.   Mr Chan said civil servants are determined to organise a decent DC election and have encouraged colleagues to vote together with friends and relatives, so as to discharge their civic responsibility as well as support and accomodate the Government's governance.   “I have visited and talked to colleagues from various government departments in the hope of continuing to widely disseminate the important message of supporting the DC election and voting together among civil servants,” he added.   The DC geographical constituencies, inform

Kevin Yeung promotes reading in SZ

Secretary for Culture, Sports & Tourism Kevin Yeung took part in reading promotion activities in Shenzhen today.

 

While attending the opening ceremony of the 24th Shenzhen Reading Month and a seminar on reading, Mr Yeung said the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government will collaborate with different stakeholders around Hong Kong Reading for All Day on April 23 to encourage reading for all.

 

“A series of activities including promotions in local bookstores will be held, while the publishing sector will be sponsored to organise reading promotion activities,” he added.

 

He also welcomed Shenzhen publishing and reading promotion units to join the event next year.

 

Mr Yeung began his visit in Dongguan yesterday where he met Dongguan Mayor Lyu Chengxi to explore co-operation opportunities.

 

Additionally, he attended the opening ceremony of the 2023 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Public Culture & Tourism Products Sourcing Fair (Dongguan) to support cultural and tourism co-operation between Hong Kong and other Greater Bay Area cities.

 

Moreover, Mr Yeung toured the headquarters of Huawei in Songshan Lake to know more about the trade's work in exploring the tourism resources within the bay area for developing multi-destination itineraries.
